Join us in the fight for a better education for everyone.

Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.
— Rita Pierson, Educator

Since we have opened our study lounge doors for free, I have met numerous students who deeply care about their education. So much so, they come here instead of their local Starbucks so they can spend their time focused on work, not in a distracting environment. I love having them here and helping them when I can. However, due to the financing of a startup business, I am not able to do much more than help them with the occasional math problem in-between paid appointments, and I especially cannot afford to pay my tutors to help them with other subjects. This is something that has been weighing on my heart since the start of this company. I believe that ALL students deserve a chance to not only do well in school but to have someone invest enough time in their education that it inspires a love of learning.

Starting in January, we will be offering scholarships for students who need tutoring but can't afford it through our gofundme. Through this, we will be able to give students free and reduced tutoring; I can finally give students the time they deserve. The only qualifications are a financial need and a willingness to work hard.

PLEASE JOIN US IN PROVIDING STUDENTS THE GIFT OF A GOOD EDUCATION BY GIVING FINANCIALLY OR BY VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME TO TUTOR. YOU CAN DONATE HERE OR CONTACT US AT INFO@STUDENTSOCIETY.COM IF YOU WOUD LIKE TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER TUTOR.

I appreciate your support for our scholarship program, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about our plans with the funds and our goals for the program.

Thank you, thank you.

New kid on the block.

With advice and opinions on education reform, relating to teens, and a little in between.

Welcome to my site! I appreciate you taking a look and hope you enjoy the content.

Since this is my first post, I thought I would share a little about myself. I am a born and raised Floridian that was transplanted in Denver about 3 years ago when I got married. I have worked in education in many facets, including teaching math in urban middle and high schools, teaching in the homeschool sector, teaching small group test prep courses and tutoring students with all backgrounds. (For a more clinical description, see my bio.)

I have a passion for working with teens and mentoring them through the scariest and most critical part of their education. I hope to inspire the students I work with to strive for their goals and to make education what they want it to be. Through my experiences, I have learned much about relating to teens and how they learn. This is why I decided to start a blog (oh, and a tutoring company).

In my writing, I hope to cover topics such as understanding different learning styles, how to motivate students, why mentorship is so important, and what needs to change in education. Also, keep an eye out for some expert test taking advice and updates on standardized testing. I will be posting material that will be helpful to teens, parents of teens, and educators, alike!

Thank you for visiting my site, and please comment or visit my contact page with anything you would like to talk about!

Bye, for now.
